How to Buy Cheap Steam Games in India with UPI (Step by Step)
No credit card? No problem. Here is exactly how to buy cheap Steam games in India using UPI, from picking the right version to uploading your UTR and setting up the game.
Short answer: Pick a game on SteamGamesBazaar, choose the version you want, pay by UPI or QR code, then upload your payment screenshot along with the UTR number. Once we confirm the payment, your game details are sent to you. Most big games on our store cost between ₹100 and ₹350.
Why so many people ask this
Steam prices in India have gone up a lot. Spider-Man Remastered lists at around ₹3,999. Sekiro is close to ₹5,000. If you're a student, that's a month of pocket money gone on one game.
Then there's the payment side. Plenty of Indian debit cards don't work for international purchases, or they work once and then the bank blocks the next one. A lot of the people who message us don't have a credit card at all. They use UPI for everything else, so naturally they want to use it for games too.
So here's exactly how buying from us works, start to finish. No surprises.
Step 1: Find your game and check the activation type
Search for the game or browse the cheap Steam games catalogue. Open the product page and look at the options before adding anything to your cart.
People skip this, and it matters. Most of our games are sold for offline play, which means single-player only. A few, like Cricket 24 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, also have an online option at a higher price. Want multiplayer? Pick the option that clearly says online. If the page doesn't mention online, assume it's offline.
Not sure what offline means day to day? We wrote a separate guide to Steam offline activation that explains what you can and can't do with it.
Step 2: Add it to your cart (or build a bundle)
Buying one game? Add it to the cart and go to checkout. If you want three or four at once, the bundle builder lets you put them all in a single order. Got a coupon code? You can apply it at checkout.
Step 3: Fill in your details carefully
Checkout asks for your name, email and phone number. Use an email you actually open and a number that's on WhatsApp, because that's where your game details and any support replies will go. A typo here is the number one reason someone tells us "I paid but got nothing."
Step 4: Pay with UPI or the QR code
If you're paying in rupees you'll see a UPI option and a QR code. Open GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or whatever UPI app you use, scan the code or enter the ID, and pay the exact amount shown. Don't round it up or down. An odd amount makes it harder for us to match your payment to your order.
Got balance in your SGB wallet from an earlier top-up? Use that, no UPI needed. Paying from outside India works too. Switch the currency to USD and you'll get PayPal and Binance.
Step 5: Upload the screenshot and UTR number
Payment done? Good. Now the checkout page wants a screenshot of it, plus the transaction ID. Banks call this the UTR. Open your UPI app, tap on that payment, and you'll see a 12-digit number labelled UTR or UPI Ref No. That's the one.
We need both, not one or the other. Anybody can edit a screenshot in two minutes, and a UTR by itself doesn't tell us whose order it is. Give us both and we can sort your order fast.
Step 6: Get your game and set it up
When we've checked the payment, the login details and a short set of instructions come to you. The setup depends on what you picked.
Offline Steam account: log in on the real Steam app, let the game download, open it once, then hit Steam (top-left corner) and choose Go Offline. That's it. Leave it offline from now on.
Account with full email access: first thing, before you even start the download, change the email and password to yours and switch on Steam Guard. Here's our preloaded account guide if you want screenshots for that.
Login not working? Ping us on WhatsApp with your order number. Please don't try the password ten times in a row. Steam locks the account after too many wrong tries, and then even we can't do anything till the lock wears off.
What we'd tell a friend before they buy
Will your PC actually run it? Google the game name plus "system requirements" and look at the graphics card line. If your laptop has Intel UHD graphics and the game asks for a GTX 1060, you already know the answer, and no refund will change that.
Only download Steam from store.steampowered.com. If anyone sends you a "special" Steam installer, us included, don't run it.
Keep Steam offline if you bought an offline game. Honestly, this one thing causes more support messages than everything else combined.
And be careful with random Instagram or Telegram sellers who want money sent to a personal UPI ID with no website and no order page. If something goes wrong, you've got no record to show anyone.
Common questions
Can I pay with Paytm or PhonePe?
Yes. Any UPI app works, including Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and BHIM. Just scan the QR code or pay to the UPI ID shown at checkout.
I paid but forgot to upload the screenshot. What now?
Send the screenshot and UTR to our WhatsApp support along with your order number, and we'll match it up.
Do I need a credit card?
No. Most of our customers pay with UPI. You don't need a card at all.
Can I play online multiplayer?
Only if you buy a version that says online on the product page. The standard offline versions are single-player.
Does this touch my own Steam account?
No. The game comes on a separate account, so your personal Steam account stays exactly as it is. Have more questions before placing an order? Read our full buying Steam games FAQ.
